Seattle Drum Camps
If you’ve had lessons or are new to drumming, this camp is for you! Designed to lay a solid foundation for aspiring drummers, campers will spend the week learning the fundamentals of playing the snare drum, drum set, and a few other percussion instruments. With a big focus on fun, the group atmosphere makes this camp a great way to learn to play.
Snare drum topics will include proper grip and playing position, basic stroke types, beginner drum rudiments, a few essential musical terms and some basic note reading. Drumset studies will focus on basic beats and fills, and applying them to campers’ favorite songs and music. A portion of each day will be spent learning a percussion piece to be performed as a group for family and friends at the final concert on the last day of camp at 2:00pm.
Our camps are best suited for students ages 6-11, from complete beginners to experienced young musicians. We will consider campers as young as 5 or as old as 13 by special request.
Students are welcome to register for any number and combination of camps. Faculty are prepared to support a range of levels, so by attending additional sessions students can build on the skills they developed earlier in the summer.
Camps run each day from 9:00am-3:00pm.
